“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
2 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV)

There is a common misunderstanding about faith that it guarantees predictable outcomes, smooth journeys, and visible victories. Many assume that if one truly believes, life will unfold according to expectation. But faith, in its purest form, does not eliminate uncertainty; it transcends it.

Faith is not the confidence that everything will go as planned; it is the deep, unwavering trust that God remains good, wise, and faithful, even when nothing goes as planned.

Faith begins where control ends.

THE STORY OF OGE CHI KA MMA: TRUST BEYOND DIAGNOSIS

Oge Chi ka mma means, “God’s time is the best.”

Oge Chi ka mma was not always a symbol of strength. She was once known simply as a quiet woman with gentle laughter and a heart full of hope. Her life took an unexpected turn when she was diagnosed with a disease the doctors described as incurable. The word fell like a final verdict, heavy and suffocating.

At first, she prayed for healing with urgency and expectation. Each day, she waited for improvement, for a sign, for relief. But weeks turned into months, and her condition did not improve. The silence of heaven became louder than her prayers.

Then something began to shift within her.

She realized that her faith had been anchored more in outcomes than in God. She had believed, but her belief had conditions. She trusted God if He healed her. She believed if things turned around. But what happens when God’s timing does not align with human urgency?

One night, in quiet surrender, she whispered a different kind of prayer:

“Lord, even if my body does not recover, I choose to trust You, not for what You do, but for who You are.”

That moment marked a turning point, not in her condition immediately, but in her consciousness. Fear lost its grip. Anxiety loosened its hold. Peace, deep and unexplainable, began to fill her heart.

Months later, something extraordinary happened. Against all medical projections, her health began to improve. Slowly, steadily, she recovered. Doctors could not explain it, but Oge Chi ka mma understood something deeper.

Her victory was not merely in the healing of her body; it was in the transformation of her faith.

She had conquered long before her body recovered.

Like her name implies, she refused to abandon her Source. Even in pain, she held on to God, the One from whom her life came.

THE NATURE OF FAITH AND HUMAN UNDERSTANDING

Faith confronts the human obsession with certainty. The human mind craves control. It seeks to predict, define, and secure outcomes. But life, in its very nature, resists complete predictability.

Faith introduces a different way of living, one where meaning is not derived from control, but from trust.

To trust God’s character is to accept that life is not governed by randomness, but by divine intention, even when that intention is not immediately visible. It is the recognition that God’s wisdom exceeds human logic, and His perspective transcends human limitation.

Faith is not against reason; it goes beyond what reason alone can grasp and rests in the reliability of who God is.

THE INNER TRANSFORMATION THAT FAITH PRODUCES

When a person ties their peace to outcomes, they become emotionally unstable, rising and falling with circumstances. Joy becomes conditional. Peace becomes fragile.

But when faith is rooted in God’s character rather than outcomes, the mind finds stability.

Trust in God produces:

Resilience in adversity
Calmness in uncertainty
Courage in fear
Endurance in delay

Oge Chi ka mma did not regain peace because her situation changed. Her situation changed because her inner world was transformed first. Her mind shifted from fear driven anticipation to trust driven surrender.

Faith becomes a form of inner freedom. It releases the heart from anxiety and anchors it in divine assurance.

THE RELATIONSHIP DIMENSION OF FAITH

Faith is relational, not transactional. It is not a tool to manipulate God’s hand; it is a posture that aligns the heart with God’s nature.

God is not merely a provider of outcomes; He is the essence of goodness, faithfulness, and truth. To trust His character is to believe that:

He is good, even when life feels harsh
He is present, even when He feels silent
He is working, even when nothing seems to move

This is the faith of Job, who said, “Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him.” It is the faith of those who do not just believe in God, but believe God, His nature, His Word, and His heart.

Such faith is unshakable because it is not tied to temporary conditions.

THE CALL TO A HIGHER KIND OF TRUST

There is a higher dimension of faith that many are invited into, a faith that is not dependent on visible results. This faith does not ask, “Will it happen?” but declares, “I trust Him regardless.”

Life will present moments where outcomes are uncertain:

Prayers that seem unanswered
Efforts that seem unrewarded
Battles that seem unending

In those moments, the question is not whether God is able, but whether you trust His character enough to remain steadfast without immediate evidence.

Oge Chi ka mma’s life reminds us that true victory is not merely in changed circumstances, but in a transformed heart that refuses to let go of God.

Faith is not about predicting tomorrow. It is about trusting the One who holds tomorrow.

CLOSING WISDOM

Trust. Endure. Overcome.
