GROW WIDER THAN CRITICISM

“For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.”
Galatians 1:10 (KJV)

Growth is not only a matter of moving forward, it is a matter of expanding inwardly until the opinions of others no longer define the boundaries of your life.

Criticism is inevitable. Wherever there is movement, there will be observation. Wherever there is progress, there will be commentary. But the danger is not in criticism itself, it is in allowing criticism to become the measure of your identity.

To grow wider than criticism is to become larger than the voices that attempt to reduce you.

It is to understand that not every opinion deserves a response, and not every judgment deserves your attention.

THE NATURE OF CRITICISM

Criticism often speaks loudly, but it does not always speak truthfully.

Some criticism is constructive, meant to refine. But much of it is projection, born from misunderstanding, insecurity, or limited perspective. When a person speaks about you, they often reveal more about themselves than about you.

The mind, however, is wired to notice negative voices more than positive ones. A hundred affirmations can be silenced by one harsh word if the heart is not trained.

This is why many people shrink, not because they lack potential, but because they have given too much power to external voices.

To grow is to reclaim that power.

THE INNER EXPANSION

Growth requires width of soul.

A narrow mind reacts quickly. A wide mind absorbs, filters, and discerns. When your inner life is small, criticism feels overwhelming. But when your inner life expands, criticism loses its weight.

It becomes a passing sound, not a defining voice.

A person who has grown inwardly understands that identity is not built on applause or destroyed by rejection. It is rooted deeper than opinion.

This is strength, not hardness, but stability.

THE QUIET WORK OF MATURITY

Maturity is not proven by how loudly you defend yourself, but by how calmly you continue your path.

There is a discipline in ignoring what does not deserve your energy.

Not every accusation must be answered. Not every rumor must be corrected. Not every voice must be engaged.

Sometimes, the greatest response is consistency.

To keep building, to keep walking, to keep becoming, even when misunderstood.

THE STORY OF AZU ANUKA

In a certain village, there was a young man known as Azu anuka, a name that means the back hardly hears gossip.

From a young age, people spoke about him. Some said he was too quiet. Others said he was proud. Some mocked his slow and steady way of doing things.

But Azu anuka did not turn around for every voice behind him.

While others spent their time responding to what was said about them, he spent his time working.

He learned a trade. He improved his skills. He stayed consistent.

There were days the criticism grew louder. People questioned his choices. They laughed at his patience. They doubted his direction.

But he kept moving.

He did not pretend not to hear, but he chose not to be governed by what he heard.

Years passed.

What was once mocked began to take shape. His work began to speak. His consistency produced results. The same voices that criticized him began to fall silent, not because they had changed, but because his life had outgrown their words.

Azu anuka became known, not for what people said about him, but for what he built.

He succeeded, not because there was no criticism, but because he grew wider than it.

THE HIGHER CALL

There is a calling in every life that requires focus. But focus cannot survive where attention is constantly divided by external voices.

To fulfill purpose, you must decide what deserves your attention.

Criticism will always exist, but it does not have to occupy your mind.

You are not called to answer every voice, you are called to complete your assignment.

WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT

Do not shrink to fit the opinions of others.

Do not reduce your vision to match their understanding.

Grow.

Grow in clarity. Grow in discipline. Grow in purpose.

Let your life become so grounded, so focused, so expansive, that criticism cannot contain you.

Let your results speak louder than their words.

REFLECTIVE QUESTIONS

Am I building my life based on truth, or reacting to opinions?

What voices have I allowed to limit my growth?

Have I grown wide enough within to remain steady despite criticism?
