SCRIPTURE
«“Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”
Ephesians 5:16 (KJV)»
THE VALUE OF SEASONS
Life is shaped not only by the choices we make but also by the opportunities we neglect. Many people assume that every open door will remain open forever. Yet time moves forward, and every season carries assignments that cannot always be repeated.
THE LAW OF CONSEQUENCES
A farmer who ignores planting season cannot negotiate with harvest season. The possibilities available later are often determined by the actions taken earlier. In the same way, neglected education limits future opportunities, delayed reconciliation weakens relationships, and postponed obedience can hinder progress.
THE STORY OF THE UNLIT LAMP
An old village tale speaks of a young traveler who was given a lamp before beginning a long journey through the mountains. The elder who handed him the lamp said, “Use it before darkness comes.”
The traveler laughed and thought the warning unnecessary. The day was bright, and the road was clear. Instead of preparing, he delayed. When night finally arrived, he discovered that strong winds had damaged the lamp, and the path ahead had become dangerous.
THE MISSED OPPORTUNITY
The problem was not that he lacked a lamp. The problem was that he failed to use his season of preparation.
Many people suffer similarly. They do not fail because opportunity never came; they fail because they ignored it when it was available.
RECOGNIZING YOUR SEASON
Every season carries a purpose. Some seasons are for learning, others for building, serving, growing, or preparing. Those who recognize their season expand their future possibilities. Those who neglect it often discover that their options have become fewer.
THE MERCY OF GOD
Yet there is hope. God is merciful and can restore what has been lost. Nevertheless, wisdom teaches us not to waste today’s opportunities while waiting for tomorrow’s miracles.
AN AFRICAN PROVERB
An African proverb says:
«”The sun that shines today may not shine with the same strength tomorrow.”»
A CALL TO ACTION
Use the season you are in. Honor its lessons. Embrace its responsibilities. Make the most of the opportunities God has placed before you. For choice narrows with every season mishandled, but destiny unfolds through every season wisely embraced.
MORAL LESSONS
- Opportunities Are Time-Sensitive
The easiest time to use an opportunity is when it first appears.
- Neglect Has Consequences
Small acts of neglect today can become major limitations tomorrow.
- Faithfulness Preserves Possibilities
The wisest use of time is faithful action in the present season.
