Many people celebrate arrival, but God values transformation. Every difficulty is an opportunity to become wiser, stronger, and more faithful.
Like a flowing river, life remains fresh when it keeps moving. The person who stops learning soon stops growing. Every trial has a lesson, and every lesson prepares us for greater responsibility.
A STORY OF TWO YOUNG MEN WITH A BAMBOO SHOOT
An old village elder gave two young men each a bamboo shoot to plant and instructed them to water it every morning without fail.
After a few weeks, one of the young men became discouraged because nothing seemed to be happening. He looked at his friend’s bamboo, saw the same empty ground, and concluded that the elder’s advice had been useless. In frustration, he dug up the shoot and threw it away.
The other young man continued watering his bamboo every day. Though he saw no visible growth, he trusted the wisdom of the elder and remained patient.
Several months later, green shoots finally appeared. Within a short time, the bamboo grew rapidly and stood far above the surrounding plants because, all along, it had been developing a deep and strong root system beneath the ground.
The elder smiled and said, “What grows slowly is often growing deeply.”
So it is with life. God often develops our roots before He reveals our fruit. What appears to be delay is often preparation for greater strength and lasting influence.
THE BEAUTY OF CONTINUAL GROWTH
Growth requires humility, patience, and perseverance.
God uses every season to shape our character. He is more concerned with who we are becoming than with how quickly we arrive.
As long as God is teaching you, your story is still unfolding. Your present season is preparation, not your destination.
