THE BODY RELAXES WHEN IT IS NOT REQUIRED TO TELL LIES

There is a quiet relationship between truth and peace.

A person may deceive others with words, but the mind remembers what was said yesterday, what was hidden today, and what must be invented tomorrow. This creates an invisible burden.

Lying can become a prison. Truth may be uncomfortable for a moment, but falsehood often demands continuous maintenance.

There is freedom in being able to say, “This is who I am. This is what happened. I was wrong. I do not know. I need help.”

When a person no longer has to perform a false identity, something within begins to breathe again.

“He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.”
Proverbs 10:9 KJV

Proverbs 10:9 connects uprightness with security.

The honest person does not have to construct explanations to protect a falsehood. Truth gives the soul simplicity.

Sometimes truth costs something, but there is deeper security in knowing that your life does not need two versions: the life you live and the life you explain.

Truth simplifies the soul.

A LIFE THAT DOES NOT HAVE TO PRETEND

A lie creates a second reality.

The person must remember what actually happened while remembering what they told others happened. This can produce anxiety, fear of exposure, guilt, shame, and exhaustion.

Truth brings the inner world closer to the outer world.

There is healing in authenticity.

You do not have to impress everyone.

You do not have to pretend to be stronger than you are.

You do not have to manufacture success.

You do not have to hide every weakness.

There is peace in becoming honest before God.

God desires truth not only from our mouths but also in the hidden chambers of our hearts.

THE MONKEY THAT COULD NOT KEEP ITS STORY STRAIGHT

There is an old African-style animal tale about a monkey who discovered a farmer’s basket of bananas.

The monkey took one banana.

Then another.

Then another.

When the farmer noticed that his bananas were disappearing, he asked, “Who has been taking my bananas?”

The monkey quickly answered, “Not me!”

The next day, the monkey was caught carrying another banana.

“Did you take this?”

“No. I found it.”

“Where?”

“Near the tree.”

“Which tree?”

“The big tree.”

“Who owns the tree?”

The monkey became silent.

Then he changed his story.

“I did not take the banana. The banana followed me.”

The animals laughed.

The monkey had discovered something important too late:

One lie often requires another lie to protect it.

Eventually, the monkey was no longer protecting the banana. He was protecting the story.

That is how deception works in human life.

A person tells one lie to escape embarrassment, then another to cover the first. Eventually, more energy is spent protecting the image than living the life.

Truth may expose you, but lies imprison you.

THE SPIRITUAL FREEDOM OF TRUTH

Jesus said:

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:32 KJV

Jesus did not say truth would merely make you knowledgeable. He said it would make you free.

The fear of being discovered is a chain.

The pressure to maintain an image is a chain.

The burden of pretending is a chain.

.The guilt of deception is a chain.

But truth opens the prison door

When you can stand before God and say, “Lord, this is me,” grace can work with what is real.

Healing begins where honesty begins.

Transformation begins where pretending ends.

God does not require a performance. He desires an honest heart.

REFLECTIVE LESSONS

Temporary discomfort is better than permanent deception.

Be the person God is calling you to be.

Am I the same person when nobody is watching?

Bring God the real you. Grace does not need perfection; it needs honesty.

The body relaxes when it is not required to tell lies.

The mind becomes quieter when it does not have to maintain two realities.

The soul becomes freer when it no longer needs to perform.
