Life is like the wheel of a bicycle. It turns, and as it turns, positions change. The person who is above today may find himself beneath tomorrow, while the person in the shadows today may rise into the sunlight of another season.
Life does not remain in one position forever. Circumstances change, relationships change, and opportunities come and go. Therefore, never allow your present condition to define your entire future.
Sometimes, life brings laughter, success, and celebration. At other times, it brings tears, disappointment, and uncertainty. But remember, your present position is not necessarily your final destination.
A bicycle moves forward because its wheels keep turning. Similarly, progress in life requires courage, patience, and persistence. When the road becomes rough, do not surrender. Learn, adapt, and keep moving.
THE STORY OF UWANEME-NTUARI
THE OLD WIDOW WHO REFUSED TO SURRENDER
In a small African village lived an old widow named Uwaneme-ntuari, meaning THE DOES CHANGE.
She was once happily married to a hardworking farmer, and they had a son. However, tragedy struck when her husband died, leaving her to raise their son alone.
Grief overwhelmed her, and poverty soon became her companion. Nevertheless, she refused to surrender. She cultivated her farm, sold vegetables, and did whatever honest work she could find to feed her son.
One morning, her son asked, “Mother, why do you continue working so hard when life has taken so much from you?”
She replied, “My son, the wheel of a bicycle does not stop turning because the road becomes rough. I cannot bring your father back, but I can decide what to do with the life that remains in my hands.”
Years later, her son travelled to the city to seek opportunities. Unfortunately, he lost his job and returned home discouraged.
“Mother, I have failed. Perhaps I am not destined for greatness,” he confessed.
Uwaneme-ntuari pointed towards an old bicycle and said, “Your failure is an experience, not your identity. Losing your job does not mean you have lost your ability to work. Do not confuse a change in direction with the end of your journey.”
Encouraged by her words, he began repairing bicycles. Although people laughed at his small beginning, he persisted. Gradually, his business grew into a workshop where he employed other young men.
As Uwaneme-ntuari grew older and weaker, her son cared for her, providing food, medicine, and comfort.
One evening, he held her hand and said, “Mother, you taught me to rise when I was ashamed of falling. Now, let me carry your burdens.”
She smiled and replied, “When you are above, be humble. When you are below, do not despair. When you are strong, help the weak. When you become weak, allow others to help you.”
Her son finally understood that his mother’s greatest inheritance was not material wealth, but the courage to persevere.
Uwaneme-ntuari overcame many storms, not because life was easy, but because she refused to let hardship write the final chapter of her story.
TEN LESSONS FROM THE TURNING WHEEL
YOUR PRESENT POSITION IS NOT YOUR PERMANENT IDENTITY
Never allow today’s struggles to define your entire future. Your present position describes where you are, not necessarily where you will end.
PERSISTENCE GIVES HOPE THE OPPORTUNITY TO BECOME REALITY
Hope must be accompanied by action. Keep working, learning, and preparing for better opportunities.
DO NOT LET FAILURE BECOME YOUR NAME
Failure is an experience, not your identity. Learn from your mistakes and begin again with greater wisdom.
HUMILITY IS NECESSARY WHEN THE WHEEL TURNS UPWARD
When you succeed, remain humble. Treat others with kindness because life can change unexpectedly.
PAIN MUST NOT DEFINE YOUR ENTIRE LIFE
Acknowledge your pain, allow yourself to heal, and seek support when necessary. Tears do not mean weakness.
WHEN ONE ROAD CLOSES, EXAMINE THE POSSIBILITIES THAT REMAIN
You may lose an opportunity without losing your abilities. Discover what you still possess and use it to begin again.
ACCEPT THAT YOU CANNOT CONTROL EVERY TURN OF THE WHEEL
You cannot control every circumstance, but you can learn to respond wisely. Focus on what you can change.
DO NOT MEASURE YOUR ENTIRE LIFE BY ONE SEASON
A difficult chapter is not the whole book. Keep learning from yesterday, living responsibly today, and preparing for tomorrow.
FAITH GIVES THE SOUL COURAGE TO CONTINUE
Trust God through changing seasons. Sometimes He changes your circumstances; sometimes He strengthens you to endure them.
NEVER DESPISE THE SMALLNESS OF A NEW BEGINNING
Great achievements often begin with small steps. Start where you are, use what you have, and remain persistent.
REFLECTION
Life turns like the wheel of a bicycle. Sometimes you rise; sometimes you fall. Sometimes you celebrate; sometimes you struggle.
Like Uwaneme-ntuari, learn to face life’s changing seasons with courage, wisdom, and faith.
When you rise, remain humble. When you fall, rise again. When the road becomes difficult, adjust your direction without abandoning your purpose.
THE WHEEL MAY TURN, BUT DO NOT SURRENDER YOUR FUTURE TO THE PAIN OF YOUR PRESENT. KEEP LEARNING, KEEP WORKING, KEEP PRAYING, AND KEEP MOVING FORWARD.
ECCLESIASTES 3:1, KJV
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.
