LIFE UNFOLDS IN SEASONS, NOT SHORTCUTS

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.”
Ecclesiastes 3:1 (KJV)

FOUNDATION OF TIMING:

Life is not random movement; it is ordered timing. God does not rush purpose. Each stage carries an assignment, and each assignment has its season. What is forced outside its time may exist, but it will not endure.

THE WISDOM OF SEASONS:

Nothing meaningful is born in haste. The tree does not hurry its roots, yet it stands tall. The river does not rush, yet it arrives with depth. In the same way, life unfolds through seasons, not shortcuts.

THE STRUGGLE WITH PROCESS:

The heart often desires arrival more than becoming. We want results without waiting. Yet every phase has meaning. When one season is rushed, the next becomes unstable.

HIDDEN GROWTH:

Not all progress is visible. Just as seeds grow in darkness before rising, so a person is often shaped in unseen places. To rush this is to interrupt formation.

ANCIENT WISDOM OF AFRICAN TRADITION

In many African villages, there was a cherished tradition known as tales by moonlight. When the day’s labor was done and the night had settled gently upon the earth, families would gather under the quiet glow of the moon. The elders would speak, not merely to entertain, but to teach.

One such tale is told of a young farmer who grew impatient with the rhythm of the seasons.

He had watched his father plant seeds and wait months before harvest. He saw the slow unfolding and grew frustrated. “Why must it take so long?” he would ask. “Is there no faster way?”

One year, determined to outsmart time, he planted his crops and began to water them excessively. He checked the soil constantly, digging up seeds to see if they had sprouted. He added more fertilizer than necessary, believing that more effort would produce quicker results.

For a few days, nothing seemed wrong.

Then, slowly, the signs appeared.

The seeds he kept uncovering failed to take root. The soil became too disturbed to sustain growth. The excess water weakened what little had begun to form. What he thought was care became interference.

Months later, while his father’s field stood green and full, his own land was sparse and struggling.

Ashamed, he went to his father and asked, “Why did my effort not produce results?”

The father looked at him and said, “You tried to harvest in a season meant for waiting. You tried to force what only time can form. The earth does not answer to impatience.”

That night, under the moonlight, the young man understood something he had never grasped before: effort cannot replace timing, and desire cannot override process.

THE LESSON OF PROCESS:

Shortcuts promise speed but rarely preserve substance. What grows too quickly lacks depth. What is gained without process is hard to sustain.

THE POWER OF ACCEPTING YOUR SEASON:

Each season builds something. Waiting strengthens endurance. Hidden moments shape character. When embraced, there is less anxiety and more quiet confidence.

THE CALL TO LIVE WISELY:

To live well is to cooperate with seasons. To know when to act and when to wait. Let time do its work. Let each season complete its assignment within you.

CLOSING WISDOM:

  1. What is rushed is rarely rooted; true growth requires time.
  2. Every season has a purpose; skipping one weakens what follows.
  3. Patience with process produces results that shortcuts cannot sustain.
